I spent seven years as the MP for Walsall North, and I'm proud of what I achieved in that time.
Staff and patients had told me they desperately needed a new A&E department at the local hospital, so I worked hard to secure the £36m of funding that was needed. It has been built and opened last year.
If you want improved healthcare provision locally, then I have a track record of delivery.
But that's not all.
I also ensured that the two towns in my constituency benefited from significant government funding to help revitalise them.
And I secured the funding for a new train station for one of those towns.
The experience of having been an MP and Government minister means that I understand how the system works and how to best make sure I can deliver on people’s priorities. I love serving as a local representative and I know I could improve things here in Tamworth and the villages.
