If you're an older person in living in Shenstone looking for some friendly company (and a great bacon sandwich!), then the Brunch or Lunch Club might be for you!
Brenda, Mary, Val and a fantastic team of enthusiastic volunteers run a brunch and lunch club in the village for over 65s - and although I’m only 55, I popped in over the weekend with my wife, Clare, to find out more about the great work they’re doing in Shenstone.
Sadly for some older residents, the weekends can be a long and lonely time and these clubs are a brilliant way of encouraging people to meet their neighbours and have chat - I certainly enjoyed it and I wish there were great groups like this for my parents.
The brunch club is on the first Saturday of every month from 10am-12pm, serving lovely bacon sandwiches (with delicious bacon supplied by Russell's Butchers of Shenstone) and the lunch club is on the third Saturday of the month from 12pm-2pm. Both groups meet in Wesley Hall and are open to all so if you or anyone you know would like to go then do pop along later this month for the lunch club on 17th February!
